Concept:
Sanskrit is one of the oldest languages in the world, with a rich history having influenced the development of many modern linguistic traditions. The Vedas and many other spiritual texts from ancient India were composed in Sanskrit, underscoring the important role that the language plays in communicating and translating ancient sustainable knowledge systems to the modern world.
The word RŪPA (रूप) is derived from Sanskrit roots, and means 'form'. It can take on various connotations - physical form, subtle form, a form of awareness etc. On that note, we introduce you to our first EP – RUPA , a manifestation of our devotion to different deities taking musical form. The EP consists of three pieces derived from three Sanskrit mantras, presenting our own idea of sacred repetition, a blend of devotion and meditation with the modern trance dance experience.
Note on mantras
The practice of repeating a mantra can lead to a transformational experience that can shift consciousness and promote spiritual growth. Through the repetition of the mantra, the mind is able to let go of limiting beliefs and negative thought patterns, which can lead to a deeper sense of inner peace, clarity, and awareness.
Tracklist
1) Ragarupa - This project features a bhajan (a devotional hymn) for the prayer of Dattatreya, a syncretic deity and avatar of Trimurti (the trinity of supreme deities in Hindu tradition).
2) Gayatrirupa - This project features the Gayatri Mantra, which is dedicated to the Sun and said to bestow wisdom and enlightenment
3) Vishvarupa - This project features verses from Chapter 11 of the Srimad Bhagwata Geeta, a Hindu holy scriptures. The Vishvarupa is a cosmic representation of the omniscient form that pervades the entire universe.
